Schans parc
Urban plan
A new development plot with five free standing houses is situated between the Schans Park and Schans. The houses accentuate the corners of the pentagonal plot. Although they vary in shape, they form a coherent cluster through the use of brick on the exterior and light-coloured inner façades. The presbytery is disconnected from the church, creating a direct connection between the park and Schans street. Roads are consolidated, and parking is accommodated within courtyards. Horseshoe-shaped hedges screen the parked cars from view from the park. The church front façade is retained. A new volume, in the shape of the former nave, will accommodate assisted-living apartments. The presbytery is subdivided into apartments. It is oriented on the park together with the new nave and added houses.
