//green, industrial and cooperative living in Eindhoven
Campina factory
conceptual plan
A green, mobility and energy co-operative are spatially interwoven. The shared use of compact cars limits the space required for parking facilities. The saved space is designed as lush gardens to support recreation, ecology and energy generation through Plant-E technology. The energy produced is stored in the electric shared cars. Head-to-tail buildings are aligned with the pattern of the former agricultural landscape. They form courtyards with sightlines towards the valuable historic factory buildings. The timber-constructed Fashion College ‘Haut Couture’ is suspended like a cross-beam above the Boiler House. Eindhovens Kanaal is given an ecologically designed riverbank. The ground surface acquires a green yet industrial character through the use of broken and stacked concrete floor remnants.
