A new landscape-integrated connection between the A8 and Provincialeweg crosses the railway on a grade-separated level. This ensures both the intensification of rail traffic and the continuous flow of local traffic. The former on and off ramp make way for a park with new skate facilities. The park connects the areas on either side of the A8. New housing on the northern and southern sides improve the urban structure and creates a playful edge to the park. Around Station Zaandijk-Zaanse Schans, a new hub is created. Following reconfiguration, a sports island is created and the sports park is connected more direct to the A8 and Provincialeweg. Routes for local cyclists, tourists and regional freight traffic are optimised. Guisweg is scaled down to a tree-lined canal street, suitable for local traffic.
